Annual report 2020: an eventful year
Because we are a foundation with ANBI status, we make an annual report every year. The 2020 version has been completed! The report not only contains all the figures, but also detailed descriptions of everything that happened in the eventful corona year. The three wonderful, energetic and inspiring walks
In the spring, we organised wonderful walks for donors and interested parties in Rotterdam, The Hague and Den Bosch – completely coronaproof. The exposure was enormous and we saw many familiar and new faces. There were Brazilian snacks and drinks and the atmosphere was warm and exuberant.
Of course, this would never have been possible without the help of the many volunteers who, with their boundless energy, provided the participants with an unforgettable day. Many, many thanks! Did you miss it? Don’t worry, there will be another one. And after seeing this video, you will probably register right away!
Gaming for a good cause: on 1 July!
Participate online: from 6 to 8 p.m.
A group of international students started developing an online game in corona time. It became a great success! Now they want to organise a game night for a good cause: Power2Fly.
In the game, you play together with a group (each behind their own screen, or two per screen) or individually in a virtual world.
- You play with and against each other.
- Sometimes you get tips, sometimes you have to find something and you get all kinds of assignments. Maybe you have to interrogate someone or search for parts…

You can register individually, but also with your family, housemates or friends in Brazil. Or play the game with your company or with colleagues abroad. Everything happens online so all kinds of combinations are possible.

Impact: always important. And now even more so.
Guilherme Monteiro, a Brazilian who studied in the Netherlands, has offered his services to us to do impact research. The first study focused on the distribution of the emergency kits last year at the time of corona to the families involved in ASAS. The second one focused on reaching the children during corona and how they experienced the online attention and activities.
We are very grateful to Gui for this valuable research and are happy to share it with you.
Site: good moments and hick-ups
The containers are ready to be placed, but we are still waiting for the final permit. The drainage of the rainwater has never been installed by the municipality so there is some tug-of-war over who will pay for it. In consultation with our Brazilian colleagues, we are working hard to solve this problem as best as possible.
Lucky/Fortune Cards still for sale!
The lucky/fortune cards are back in!
They are back! Last year, our gift cards with Brazilian lucky ribbons were a resounding success. Within 3 months, our entire stock was sold out. And rightly so: because what is nicer to give than a gift that makes someone in the Netherlands and in Brazil happier?
The idea is simple: we have cards with 1, 2 or 3 lucky ribbons (for € 15, € 25 or € 50). You give such a card to yourself or someone else. The proceeds will go entirely to the projects of Power2Fly and thus… to children in Brazil who desperately need our help.
There is literally and figuratively a wonderful Brazilian story attached to the cards: tie a band around someone’s wrist, let that person make a wish and when the band falls off, the wish is fulfilled. Feel free to order more than one: then you can pass on a whole lot of happiness.
