How beautiful Christmas was again!
It has been a while, but we still look back on the Christmas party with great pleasure. Games, good food, socialising: it was another great spectacle for the children and their families. The happy faces speak volumes.
And what was also nice: the donors received a personal thank-you. At moments like that, we are super proud that we are ‘only’ such a small foundation. We can let the donors look over our shoulder, so to speak. Everyone sees what happens with the support given And how much it means to the children.
Looking back on a busy Brazilian summer
In Brazil, the summer holidays are over again. But even during the holiday weeks, we did not do nothing. Too many families do not have a babysitter when the parent(s) are at work. Many children are then left unattended at home, with all the risks that entails. Our partner ASAS therefore organises a holiday camp during the holiday period: the children can participate in all kinds of fun, educational and original activities during the day. A look back at a great summer.
Our next trips to Brazil: November 2024
This year we – that is, Tess van de Blink in collaboration with Liduine – are organising a youth trip for the first time. Tess has already introduced herself in a previous newsletter and in the meantime we have already had an information evening. The youth trip is intended for young people aged 20-30 who would like to see and experience all that the foundation is doing in Brazil. The trip is planned for 2 to 9 November. New: a playground and more green space
We continue to actively beautify and improve the site. Sometimes things move a little slower than we had hoped, but things always work out in the end. Some time ago, for instance, money had been donated by the Children of the Equator Foundation for a playground. And. there are now all kinds of cool and sturdy playground equipment. How nice to see the happy faces of the children!
The trees are also doing fine. The planted trees are well cared for and look beautiful. Another 100 trees will be planted on 15 March, so the area will be even greener. Keep following us on social media, where we will update you on the progress.
Fresh air in the teaching team
There have been some changes in the teaching team again. And that’s kind of part of it. It happens, for instance, when someone runs into a new challenge or can earn more somewhere else or work more hours. We had to improvise for a while, but we are complete again! And the advantage, of course, is that we have a renewed team with fresh, new ideas!
Support our projects every month or annually?
Any support is very welcome. Life in Brazil has become more expensive and our new accommodation will soon have room for more children and young people. So we will also need more financial leeway. Lucky cards: always special
